Ihram & Talbiyah

Ihram is the sacred state a Muslim must enter before performing Hajj or Umrah. It involves specific clothing and behavioral restrictions.

For Men:

• Two white unstitched cloths (Izar and Rida)
• No stitching or seams allowed
• Covers the body from navel to knees

For Women:

• Regular modest clothing that covers the body
• No face veil (niqab) or gloves
• Can wear regular hijab

The Talbiyah is the prayer recited by pilgrims during Hajj and Umrah:

The full Talbiyah is:

"Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayka la shareeka laka Labbayk. Innal hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, la shareeka lak."

It should be recited frequently during Hajj, especially when moving between sacred sites.
